NZ’s only fulltime professional comedy club was opened in October 1997 and in three short years has gone from being ‘the new kid on the block’ to an institution on the local entertainment scene.
The original design and layout of the Classic is based on some of the most successful clubs in the USA and the UK, so not surprisingly, many of the international acts that have played The Classic have had nothing but praise for the atmosphere and audiences.
The Classic Venue room can accommodate 140 people in comfortable cabaret-style seating, adjacent to a separate Front Bar which is open from 6:30pm till late.
There are two licensed bars offering a wide range of refreshments at reasonable prices, convenient table service in the venue and a snack menu are also available.

From 8.00pm it's our weekly open mic for new faces featuring this weeks guest, plus up to 10 Raw comedians making a stand at the home of live comedy.

After 10 years Wednesday at The Classic has become a mid-week institution in Auckland featuring Pro comedians breaking in their fresh new comedy joined by our Monday RAW comedians breaking thru to the next level.
